We Take Flying Seriously

For over 40 years the Police Aero Club of WA (Inc) has shared a special relationship with the Royal Aero Club of Western Australia (Inc.) by cross hiring our aircraft and making it available for both private hire and flight training.

In turn the Royal Aero Club of Western Australia (Inc) facilitates training of our members and maintains our aircraft to the highest standards.

OUR AIRCRAFT

The Police Aero Club currently owns and operates a 1979 Grumman Tiger AA-5B (call sign VH-WPM) with a fixed undercarriage and propellor. This aircraft meets the Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s Visual Flight Rules (VFR), and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) pilot training requirements making it a cheaper alternative to other aircraft.

It has several outstanding features including a cruise speed of 140 knots at 75% power and a more economical 130 knots at 65% power, and the view from the wrap around cockpit makes it a joy to fly.

VH-WPM is fitted with a Garmin GNS 430W GPS Nav Com, a Garmin GMA 340 Audio Panel / 4 place Intercom, Dynon Autopilot system comprising the D10A, AP74, HS34 interfaces and a Bendix King KT74 ADS-B out enabled mode S Transponder.
The aircraft is also fitted with an electronic engine management system.
